I’ve always loved writing, I always wanted to be a writer. A storyteller. My childhood favourite, Enid Blyton, died when I was five, so I decided I wanted to be the next Enid Blyton. Then a few years later, I won a prize at school for my poetry; a beautifully illustrated book of Shakespeare stories, adapted for children. So I decided I wanted to be the next William Shakespeare. When I was fourteen, I read and fell in love with Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre … you get the picture.
I write domestic dramas, family sagas and love stories. I love to include the detail of where my stories are set, the scenery and architecture, the vegetation and wildlife. I want my readers to be able to visualise it clearly, to smell the flowers and hear the wildlife. To see what my characters can see.
If you’re new to my books, always have tissues to hand (not wanting to scare you - just a friendly tip). If you’re one of my readers, you’ll already know this.
